High Impact Savings at GE Multi-Modal Facility

Pune India Industrial Facility

The Expectation

To illuminate this industrial facility, GE sought an energy-efficient lighting solution that would reduce its environmental impact by reducing its energy consumption, provide a comfortable ambiance, and create a well-lit working environment, especially in production areas.

Our Solution

The Pune facility installed 460 of GE's Albeo™ LED high bay lighting fixtures, known for their energy efficiency, ease of installation and customizable configurations. A dimming option was included to suit different work environments and conserve additional energy, particularly in situations where lower lighting is required.

"The benefit we reap is that the number of fixtures has reduced to 50 percent when compared to our earlier proposal of T5 fixtures," said P. Einstein, engineering leader of GE Pune Facility. "This gives us almost 50 percent energy savings and, more importantly, a very clean and simple looking ceiling without any compromise in the lux level."

Results & Benefits

The Pune facility is expected to use about 46 percent less energy than with conventional lighting. Additionally, with Albeo LED lighting fixtures, which have a rated life of 100,000 hours, the facility will experience lowered maintenance needs and costs.
